Absentee Ballots

ABSENTEE BALLOT INFORMATION:  
As an elector, you may cast an absentee ballot if you are unable to appear at your polling place on the day of the primary, election, or referendum for one of the following reasons:
 
  1. Your active service in the U.S. armed forces;
  2. Your absence from town;
  3. Sickness;
  4. Your physical disability;
  5. Your religion forbids secular activity on that day;
  6. Your duties as a primary, referendum, or election official at a polling place other than your own during all the hours of voting.

Applications may be mailed, placed in the Drop Box, delivered in person, or, you may apply online (below).

Completed absentee ballots may be placed in Drop Box, mailed to Town Clerk,  or delivered in person to Town Clerk and must be received by 8:00pm on Election night.  

RSD13 BUDGET REFERENDUM (with less than 3 weeks' notice):
Absentee ballot applications for a Referendum with less than 3 weeks’ notice must be personally hand delivered to the Town Clerk’s Office by the voter or the person designated on the application. State statute prohibits the mailing of these absentee ballots.

RETURNING ABSENTEE BALLOT:  
If you have received your Absentee Ballot and it is your FIRST TIME EVER VOTING, include a photocopy of your ID, and enclose it in the serial numbered envelope. DO NOT put it in the inner envelope with the ballot.   If you have voted, in person, in the past you do NOT need to include the photocopy.

Return your absentee ballot, in person to Town Clerk's office, drop box or mail:
