Extensive damaged was caused by last night’s storm. Eversource restored over 950 customers since the start of the storm in Durham thus far. 1,440 customers in town remain without power. Eversource is focusing on clearing all blocked roads first to ensure safety, making sure critical facilities are restored, and then restoring outages that impact the largest number of customers to the lowest number of customers. We have brought on additional crews to assist in the restoration efforts.
We are looking at the possibility of a multi-day restoration process due to the damage sustained. The town will keep you up to date on an estimated time of restoration once we have more information from Eversource.
The towns Community Center, 144 Pickett Lane, is open today until 6:30 p.m., for residents in need of cooling, charging, wifi, or bottled water. When new information is received this alert will be updated.
