Here you will find information and registration forms on programs taking place during the summer months. All forms can be mailed in or dropped off with payments. Payments for recreation programs can be made at the Town Clerk office.

The first day of Summer Playground will meet Monday June 25th. Playground will meet from 9:00am – noon. Playground will meet Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until August 10th. The registration fee for the Playground Program is $35.00 per child  Family max of $70.00 for the summer.

LITTLE PEOPLE SUMMER PLAYGROUND

First Session of Little People is closed. Still room in the second class!
The first session will meet 9:00am – 10:30am. The second class will meet from 10:30am – noon. Little People will meet Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until August 10th. The registration fee is $35.00 per child Family max of $70.00 for the summer.

YOUTH NIGHT

Youth Night information
Youth Night will begin Tuesday June 26 and will end Thursday August 9th. This program is open to all students entering grades 5, 6, 7 and 8th. Youth Night will be held Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00pm – 9:00pm at Strong School. We will be playing all sorts of sports and table games. You may register on any date that your child attends.The registration fee is $25.00 per student.

ZUMBA CLASSES

Register at the begining of each session. Drop in for class is $10.00 dollars. Classes held at Brewster School.

SUMMER FUN RUNS
Come and join us for our family fun runs. For 22 years the Durham Recreation Department has sponsored free summer Fun Runs each Tuesday evening from late June to mid-August. This year the season begins Tuesday, June 26 at 6:00pm. There are races for all age groups ranging from tots to high schoolers to adults. The races are held at the Coginchaug track and range in length from ¼ mile to 3.3 miles depending on age. With seven age groups all are accommodated. Ribbons are awarded to the younger set and results are published weekly in the Town Times. The races will be canceled in the event of dangerous weather. Bring your water bottle. Register before race evening.

JUNIOR COUNSELOR PROGRAM

For students going into grade 8 to age 15, Living in Durham. Students will volunteer and participate in all summer programs. No Fee. Registration is required.

SUMMER EVENING TENNIS LESSONS

For boys and girls entering grades 6-8 as well as adults. Classes start July 16-20 from 5:00pm-6:00pm. The adult class is from 6:00PM-7:00PM. 
Practice will be a the Coginchaug Tennis Courts. Fee: $50.00

YOUTH CHEERLEADING CLINIC

Join us as we work on cheers, dance, chants, and skills. Last day of clinic will be a team performance. Bows and Tee Shirt included. Let’s cheer and have some fun!

CO-ED VOLLEYBALL
Durham Recreation will be sponsoring Adult co-ed Volleyball to be held at Strong School on Monday evenings April 30, May 7,9,14, 21,28 June 4, 11, from 6:00pm – 8:45pm. Bring a ball and friends. Open to Durham, Middlefield and Rockfall residents.

LITTLE DEVILS FOOTBALL SKILLS CLINIC

Coginchaug Varsity Football Field
For youth football players entering up to and including the sixth grade.

The “little devils” skills clinic will teach young football players the game’s fundamentals. Every player will be taught the basics of how to play offensive line, running back, receiver, defensive line, linebacker and defensive back. Players will learn blocking, tackling, ball carrying, pass catching, and pass defense
The clinic will be staffed by the Coginchaug High School freshmen football coaches and members of the Blue Devils varsity football team
A certified athletic trainer will be on site for each clinic session.
Each player will receive a Coginchaug football tee-shirt.
Players should bring water to each session.

Clinic fees: $25 for registrations submitted by July 6th
$35 for registrations submitted after July 6th
Registrations will be accepted up to and including July 23RD

BLUE DEVIL “VARSITY PLUS” FOOTBALL CLINIC

The Blue Devil “Varsity Plus” Football Clinic is a full contact clinic run by the Coginchaug varsity football coaching staff. Players will receive the advanced instruction that will give them an edge in their upcoming seasons. Players will be taught the same skills and schemes used by the coginchaug varsity football team during individual skill sessions and team periods.
A certified athletic trainer will be on site for each clinic session.
Players will receive a coginchaug practice jersey but must provide their own football equipment (helmet, shoulder pads, pants, mouthpiece, etc). Equipment from your youth football league or high school freshman team is acceptable.
Players should bring water to each session.
Clinic fees: $60 for registrations submitted by July 6th $75 for registrations submitted after July 6th

YOUTH COOKING CAMP
Cooking Camp Registration Form
Come join us for a fun week of hands-on cooking and baking. You’ll learn basic baking and cooking techniques, useful tips and can-do recipes that you’ll be able to make at home!
Here are some of the fun and favorite foods we will be making:
    Animal Cupcakes: Your choice of Monkey, Zebra, or Tiger 
    Pig Cookies: Made from sugar cookie dough looks like a pig when done. Very cute! 
    Buffalo Chicken Wings: Top Secret Recipe. 
    Taco’s: Made from crescent rolls 
    Blintz: Made with fresh fruit.
Every day we will make a different drink too! Like Snapple, Dairy Queen blizzards, Wendy’s frosty and smoothies.
